Huckabee Confounds Elites as Reagan Did

I thought this piece had some valuable observations:

http://www.theconservativevoice.com/article...

"In a campaign season when every GOP candidate is desperately trying to evoke the memory of Ronald Reagan, Mike Huckabee possesses the sincerity, humility, strength of conviction and the optimism to make us believe that America’s best days are still ahead. That is vintage Ronald Reagan."

If you are like me, these Reagan comparisons are getting a little out of hand, but this article took a different approach that raised it above many of the others I have read.

Sam Spangler of Roanoke, VA, was the very first person to earn a Volunteer Medal. You might enjoy visiting his blog:

Mike Huckabee Heads for Republican Upset

Here is a real gem:

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs...
"Mike Huckabee has stormed to frontrunner status in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, placing the former Baptist pastor in sight of one of the biggest upsets in US political history."

We need the enthusiasm of every Mike Huckabee supporter right now more than ever before. It is not the majority that makes the biggest difference, but those with a passion who never quit. Be one them while it can still make the difference.

December 27th: Big Donation Day

For those of you familiar with the November 20th website that helped the Huckabee campaign raise over $223,000 in one day, the December 27th website is organizing a similar effort. As the name suggests, they are planning this donation bonanza for December 27, 2007. Buzz over to their website and make a pledge of any amount!

http://www.dec27th.com/

If you are trying to decide between the Pledge for Huckabee and the December 27th project, we encourage you to rather help the December 27th project so that we can get the Huckabee campaign the critical funding they need before the end of the month. We are not expecting to hit 10,000 pledgers until much later than that.

But the best choice is: DO BOTH!

CNN Interview with Mike Huckabee

Mike Huckabee seems to have been in a unique mood during this interview. You will literally soak up every sentence. Throughout the course of several questions he conclusively buries the hatchet on pretty much every ridiculous charge that has been laid against him over the last month. It might be perfect for sharing with skeptical friends.

Byron York: Huckabee Hits the Target

This article gives some very interesting details and background behind the Mike Huckabee Christmas message video we posted yesterday. You will be very surprised to learn how it all came together. Reading this made me love it that much more!

http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ZDA5MzkyYzY3...

If you were not aware, there has been a wave of cynicism, particularly in the media, over this simple Christmas ad. I even remarked yesterday about how refreshing it was. But it did not take the press one day to start coming up with accusations that the television spot had some deep strategic political meaning.

Sometimes I wish I could ask reporters this: if someone actually wanted to just mean what they say, how else would they say it? The press does not get along with Mike Huckabee because he doesn't fit the mold of the politicians they are use to dealing with.

It is bewildering how Huckabee has had the character to hold himself in good tone throughout all these blatant misrepresentations of his record. In the interview below I think Mike actually "broke open" a little bit about his sincere frustration with all that he's been going through. But it came out in a compassionate frustration, rather than an angry one. It was a really neat moment to watch.

Merry Christmas from Mike Huckabee

Here is a really neat video from the Huckabee campaign. I am deeply impressed how Mike Huckabee is not afraid to mention Christ as the true meaning of Christmas (which is true, but not politically correct).

Regardless of whether you are a Christian, you can admire the way Mike Huckabee is genuine about his faith. It shows dedication. So many politicians would run from their religion to help their campaign.

I appreciate the way that Mike is willing to say he believes some things and exercises his wonderful American freedom just like the rest of us. Running for president has not changed him a bit.

Merry Christmas!

John Podhoretz: Huckabee Can Win

You will enjoy this short article by John Podhoretz:

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php...

"Of course Mike Huckabee can win the Republican nomination. I dismissed the possibility a few weeks ago by saying he had no 'path to the nomination,' and I was foolish to do so."

More and more people are being convinced that Huckabee is not just a popular sensation, but a real contender for the republican nomination. It is very interesting to notice that while the media and political strategists attempt to downplay the Huckabee surge as a factor in his likelihood of winning the nomination, his actual opponents display mannerisms of anything but disregard for his legitimacy.

Both Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson have targeted Huckabee with quite a bit of attention, including verbal comments, mailings, and even expensive television ads. It is hard to imagine them wasting time and resources on Huckabee if they did not consider him a real threat to the success of their campaigns.
